Professional Experience

Dan is a partner in the Corporate and Commercial section with over 15 years' experience in advising Australian and international clients across a diverse spectrum of industries on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity/venture capital, capital raisings, corporate governance and drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.

Prior to practicing in Australia, Dan worked in London for 6 years. He has developed his reputation as a skilled transactional lawyer and is renowned for working with clients and their advisers to achieve the best strategic and pragmatic outcomes. Dan is consistently recognised as one of South Australia's leading mergers and acquisitions lawyer, regularly exceeding client expectations for service, the quality of his advice and his commerciality. Dan has been recognised in Best Lawyers International's 2014 list in the areas of Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions.

Dan has worked with both private equity and venture capital funds in assisting with management buy outs, secondary buy outs, expansion and exit strategies. In addition, he has advised many private companies on succession strategies, many of which have resulted in those companies transacting with private equity/venture capital funds, where his experience has proved invaluable.

In addition to Dan's transaction advisory expertise, he also provides advice on corporate governance and compliance matters, to individual directors, boards, company secretaries and in-house counsel. Dan's expertise includes directors' duties, employee incentivisation strategies, shareholder relations, constitutional documents, policies and procedures and corporations act advice.
