Professional Experience

David is a senior partner in Fisher Jeffries' Corporate and Commercial section. With many years experience practising in corporate and finance, banking and trade practices law, David was appointed a partner at Fisher Jeffries in 1994. David joined Fisher Jeffries in 1989 after 6 years in the Commonwealth Attorney-Generals Department where he provided legal and policy advice to the Attorney General on the Companies (Acquisition of Shares) Code and Securities Industry Code and Trade Practices.

David has considerable expertise in the areas of major share and asset sales and acquisitions, due diligence investigations, fund raisings, business and company restructuring, company law and trade practices.

Major Assignments

  • Advising Australian Central Credit Union Limited on the separate transfers of business to it of Mutual Community Building Society, Flinders Credit Union and Northern Territory Credit Union and on various listed unsecured note issues.
  • Documenting, and advising United Utilities Australia Pty Limited on its water infrastructure projects (including for QNI and Penrice Soda).
  • Conducting due diligence and advising Cater Holt Harvey Limited in its acquisition of the Forwood Products Group from the South Australian Asset Management Task Force.
  • Conducting capital raising of AUD$35 million for Simeon Wines Limited including prospectus due diligence, restructuring and advising on public offer documents.
  • Conduct of due diligence and restructuring of Austrust Limited and Executor Trustee Australia Limited (now the Tower Trust Group) prior to their sale.
  • Advising ANZ Bank on its financing of the St Hallets/Tatachilla restructuring.
  • Advising the Hai Sun Hup Group on its acquisition of the Ramada Grand and Stamford Hotels in Adelaide including due diligence, documentation and negotiation.
